Happy 5 Months!

 Dear Naomi,

Another month has passed!  You are 5 months old today.   We grow prouder and prouder of you every single day.  What can I say about month 5?  For starters, you have literally blossomed.  You conversate regularly - about what I can only imagine to myself, but whatever the topic you choose, it is irresistable to anyone to not participate.  Sleep.  You sleep quite nicely when you want.  And although this is definitey a work in progress, Papa has no problem visiting you throughout the night as many times as you like, but it's much appreciated when you take it easy on me.  Mama, see's the rougher side of sleep time with the daytime naps.  Although you like your naps, we never know when you are going to hibernate for a couple hours, or just take a quick beauty rest of 30 minutes, and sometimes we can get you to sleep in 15 minutes, and other times an hour.  And although we take turns, Mama definitely hold the crown for the magic touch in month 5.  The routine has become quite familiar now for all of us.  I think we have a nice thing going.  You've picked up on all the patterns and seem to know everything that's up next - especially when it's time to eat :).  Your brows have started to come in and with the little bit of hair you have, we are starting to get a glimpse of a little bit of curliness when your hair is wet in the bath.  You've now started to reach for things and have no problem snatching up the toy that's in your sights.  You love to roll and even practice your crawl.  It will literally be no time before you are running all over the place.

Nadia and I talk often about how fast the days pass and how quickly this adventure is unfolding.  We don't take any day for granted and we definitely milk every second of the day that we have with you.  We only can imagine all the wonderful days yet to come and all the smiles and laugther yet to recieve.  It's crazy to think that you will be 6 months old very, very soon.  Thank you baby.  Thank you for all that you have given us in this amazing 5 months.  Our lives are filled with so much sunshine because of you.

love,

Papa

Happy 4 Months!

What can I say about the last month?  Well let's see.  Naomi is quite literally a different little baby.  I mean that of course in the best possible way.  But seriously, we were witness (and continue to be) to some monumental developments.  Naomi has become quite the little chatter bug, and is fully aware of her surroundings.  She loves a nice conversation, or even a heated debate.  She has favorite toys and even picks out what she wants to wear.....kind of :).  What's been most welcome is that Naomi has seemed to have found comfort in our routine and sleeps pretty regularly these days.  In fact, it's been over a week since the last time I had to actually rock her to sleep.  She literally just rolls and mutters her way to sleep these days, finding a nice cozy position all by herself.  She is becomming a little adventurer, taking on new obastacles with fierce little determination and she loves her bath times.

One thing that we noticed right away as we were taking these pictures is that our little Naomi is a little bundle of wonder that is sometimes hard to direct - as evident in the pics of her rolling over and grabbing her feet or snatching up her toy and munching away.  Let's just say our little 4 month photo shoot was a little more of a mess.  But it is the best kind of mess :).

Thank you Naomi for another wonderful month and thank you for all the smiles and laughter.  Mama & Papa love you.

Happy 3 Months!!!

Dear Naomi,

We've reached 3 months little one! The past month has probably been the most significant in terms of your growth and ability to communicate with us.  We were definitely treated to some big breakthroughs.  You are a little conversater when you are so inclined to do so.  You and I have exchanged a nice word or two.  You are getting stronger and more curious and are so close to rolling onto your belly by yourself.  Mama has been good about giving you a lot of tummy time which you are starting to be more and more comfortable with.  Although we get the occasional rough night of helping you sleep, we've really found a nice routine that you seem to really be responding too and appreciating.  Baths are more fun than ever and we've enjoyed taking you on our long walks and trips to the park with the pups.  And although I wasn't there to see it, Mama has now heard you laugh twice!  That's right Naomi!  Your first laugh.

It's been challenging and we have all learned so much about each other, but through those challenges I see our bonds strengthening into the little family tree that is us.  If there is something that we didn't expect to happen it's dealing with how hard it is to see you growing so fast.  It is truly remarkable, but a bit sad at times too, because each day that passes we get further away from the Naomi that was just a little smaller the day before.  Seeing everything happen so fast really makes us appreciate each day to the fullest with you and take this journey one day at a time.

Thank you for another great month Naomi.

love,

Papa

Happy 2 Months!!

Dear Naomi,

The past two months have just flown by!  I can't help but marvel in how fast you are not only growing physically, but also in your mental and conscious growth.  You quite literally soak up the world around you.  You conversate with us now too......in your own 2 month old baby kind of way. It's amazing to see how you've developed your own kind of independence.  You are not afraid to let us know when you want to be on your own, sitting comfy to yourself.  We have learned some of your favorite things, such as, our family evening walks, looking out the window, staring at lights or pictures on the wall, playing the smiling game with Mama and Papa, playing with your mobil toys, listening to your favorite songs, and you may have now graduated from bouncing on the ball to swinging away in your swing.  But most importantly, we have seen you understand who your Mama and Papa are.  I sometimes wonder to myself if you can feel our love as we smother you with kisses and gaze at you?  I sometimes wonder if you understand that no matter what window you choose to look through in life, we will always be there to protect, guide and love you.

Thank you Naomi.  Thank you for two months of love and joy.

love,

Papa

Happy 1 Month!

Dear Naomi,

I suppose I'll never really get used to how quickly the time passes.  You've reached your first month as of today, literally in the blink of an eye.  One whole month.

In this first month, we've learned many different sounds that you make.  We've seen many different facial expressions.....all of which are my favorite :).  We've learned about your different moods and seen you explore the world around you with your big, beautiful eyes.  We've seen you express excitement and joy, as well as frustration, but what matters most of all is that we've been with you each step of the way to share in all of your first precious moments of life.  I hope that we have been good care givers to you and that we have made you feel safe and loved.  And although we can officially put the first month behind us, we can't wait for the lifetime of months that we are yet to share.

love,

Papa
